Dental treatment in Cyprus from abroad. A four-hour flight,
and a dentist who
answers his own phone.

Patients travel here from the UK, Germany and across Europe. The dentistry is the same as it would be for anyone local — what changes is how it’s sequenced around your trip.

Why patients travel abroad for dental treatment

Almost nobody flies abroad for dentistry because they fancy the trip. They do it because they cannot get seen at home, or because the quote they were given is out of reach, or because they want the whole thing done by one clinician instead of being passed between four.

Those are reasonable motives. The figures below are not mine — they are from the British Dental Association, the Office for National Statistics and German market data, and every one of them is linked so you can check it.

If you’re coming from the UK. Access is the
problem before
price is.

~14m Adults in England reported as unable to access NHS dental care in early 2025 — around one in four, and well above pre-pandemic levels. British Dental Association analysis, cited in the House of Commons, June 2026. BDA
~97% Of people without a dentist who tried to get NHS dental care were reported as unsuccessful. ONS, Experiences of NHS healthcare services in England. BDA / ONS
~£600 Reported median private cost of a single veneer in the UK. Individual quotes vary widely with material, tooth and practice. TreatCompare UK price research, 2026. TreatCompare
£2k+ Commonly reported range for a single private dental implant in the UK, including the crown. London typically sits higher. UK private dental price guides, 2026. Dentists Closeby

About these figures. They are third-party estimates published by others — dental associations, statistics bodies and market price guides — describing the cost and availability of treatment in the reader’s own country. They are indicative ranges, not quotations, and they are not Dr Andreas’s fees. Every source is linked so you can check it and see how current it is.

No saving is claimed or implied. What your own treatment would cost can only be established after an examination, and what you have been quoted at home is something only you can compare it against.

If you’re coming from Germany. Insured, and
still paying.

Statutory cover pays for the cheapest clinically acceptable option. Anything tooth-coloured, ceramic or implant-borne is largely on you — which is why so many German patients are quoted four figures for a single tooth.

€2k+ Commonly reported out-of-pocket range for one implant with a ceramic crown under statutory cover, after the fixed subsidy. German dental insurance market guides, 2026. Live in Germany
~€450 Roughly what statutory insurance contributes toward an implant — a fixed subsidy set against the cost of a standard bridge, not the implant. Statutory subsidy explained by German health-insurance guides. How to Germany
€300+ Reported additional cost per tooth to upgrade from a basic metal crown to tooth-coloured ceramic. German dental cover explained for residents, 2026. IamExpat

On dental costs in Cyprus. What I won’t
tell you.

I’m not going to publish a percentage saving, because I don’t know what you’ve been quoted and neither does anyone else advertising one.

What I will do is give you a realistic range from your photographs, and a firm written figure after an examination. Compare that against the quote you already have. If the difference is small once flights and accommodation are counted, having your dentist twenty minutes from home is worth more than the saving — and I’ll say so.

A word about the risk, since nobody else mentions it. Survey work reported by the British Dental Association has found that the large majority of UK dentists have seen patients who travelled abroad for treatment, often when something needed putting right afterwards.

Treatment abroad goes wrong when it is compressed to fit a holiday. Implants need months to integrate. Ceramics need a try-in appointment before they are cemented. If a clinic offers you a full mouth in a week, that is a warning, not an offer. My plans are sequenced around healing time even when that means telling you to come twice.

Why choose a dentist in Cyprus. An EU island
that speaks
English.

Cyprus is an EU member state, so dental practice is regulated to European standards and qualifications are recognised across the union. English is spoken almost everywhere. Larnaca airport is twenty-five minutes from the surgery.

  • EU-regulated dentistry, not an unregulated market
  • Direct flights from most of the UK and Germany
  • Consultations in Greek, English or German
  • Larnaca airport 25 minutes from the clinic
  • Intraoral scanning and guided implant surgery on site
  • One clinician planning and carrying out the whole case
  • Written plan and costs before anything begins
  • Records sent to your own dentist at home

How dental treatment abroad works. Before you
book a flight.

  1. Message me

Send photographs of your teeth and any recent X-rays by WhatsApp, with a description of what you want changed.

  2. First assessment

I’ll tell you what appears possible, what it would involve, and whether it’s worth travelling for. Some cases are better treated at home — I’ll say so.

  3. Outline plan and costs

A written outline of the treatment, the number of visits and the estimated cost, so you can plan flights and budget before committing.

  4. First visit

Full examination, scans and records on arrival. The plan is confirmed in person and only then does treatment begin.

  5. Treatment

Sequenced around your trip. Most complex cases need two visits with a healing period between them.

  6. Aftercare at home

Written notes and images for your own dentist, and I remain reachable on WhatsApp afterwards.

people ask.

All 36 answers

How many trips will I need?

It depends entirely on the treatment. Bonding or whitening can be a single visit. Ceramic work usually needs two. Implants need a healing period between placement and the final restoration, which normally means two trips several months apart. You’ll be told which applies to you before you book anything.

Can you give me a price from photographs?

I can give you a realistic range, and I’d rather do that than have you fly out to find the number is different. A firm price needs an examination and X-rays, because what’s under the surface changes the plan.

What language will we speak?

Greek, English or German.

What if something goes wrong when I’m home?

You’ll have my WhatsApp and a written record of exactly what was done, with images, which any dentist can act on. For anything that needs hands in your mouth urgently, see a local dentist first and send me the details — that’s safer than flying back.

Where would I stay?

The clinic is in Xylofagou, between Larnaca and Ayia Napa, with both towns within about 20 minutes. Most patients base themselves in Larnaca for convenience or Ayia Napa if they’re bringing family.

Do you work with my dentist at home?

Gladly. If you have a dentist you trust, I’d prefer they’re kept informed — I’ll send records and treatment notes directly to them.

Message a Cyprus dentist. Start with a
photograph.

The first message costs nothing and takes two minutes. Send a clear daylight photo of your smile and I’ll tell you honestly whether travelling here makes sense for you.
